Earth Day Healing

~ When we heal the Earth, we heal our selves. David Orr.

We join with the earth and with each other, to bring new life to the land, to restore the waters, to refresh the air.

We join with the earth and with each other, to renew the forest, to care for the plants, to protect the children.

We join with the earth and with each other, to celebrate the seas, to rejoice in the sunlight, to sing the song of the stars.

We join with the earth and with each other, to re-create the human community and wellbeing for all sentient beings.

We join with the earth and with each other, to promote justice, and peace, to remember our children.

We join with the earth and with each other, as many diverse expressions of one loving mystery, for the healing of the earth, and the renewal of all humanity.

And the people stayed home, and they read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and they were still, and listen more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced, some met their shadows, and the people began to think differently, and the people healed.

And in the absence of people living in ignorance, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal. And when the danger passed, the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live, and healed the earth fully.

As they had been healed, they healed the world.
