Transform Your Lawn

The first step you can take towards a beautiful garden is to transform your lawn. Whether this is applying formulated treatment to help with grass regrowth or cutting it into a shape, it will make all the difference in your outdoor space. Alternatively, if you want a simpler solution, you can invest in professional lawn care, in which an expert can come and do this for you (along with any tree/shrub treatments and irrigation). More than ever now, I am so happy that my lawn company is in business and able to provide service. Just cutting the grass takes such a long time and effort, I couldn’t imagine doing it on my own. Well, it’s just me… I do the growing, but someone else has to do the cutting. Throughout the year your lawn might take the hit of the various weather conditions. So when the weather is nice out, take advantage of it and give it the love and care that it requires!

Add Fairy Lights

Another simple improvement that you could make to your garden is adding pretty fairy lights. Whether you install these over your outdoor seating area or amongst the trees, it will make an extraordinary change to your garden from the moment you switch them on. Making it feel welcoming and cozy, you’ll want to sit out and admire the lights no matter what the season. A budget-friendly improvement that seems very economical and there are so many places that you can buy outdoor fairy lights, from Amazon to Target. Available in different styles and colors, you are bound to find the right ones for your garden no matter what your style. Especially now, any kind of cheer will be a plus to distress and light up a smile in our minds. My Christmas tree is still on. This is a record long lasting glimmer of lights, but so helpful on a daily basis. I think it is beautiful every day as I walk by it. So happy it was not disabled and serves as a happy purpose. I intend on keeping it throughout this year.

Whether you have always wanted to grow carrots, potatoes, cabbage or another type of vegetable, you can do with your own maintained allotment patch. Although it might sound tricky, anyone can do it if they follow the right guidelines. To help with the process, there are plenty of tutorials and resources out there.

One of the key aspects of many garden improvements is adding flowers. No matter what flowers you want to add, whether it is tulips, daisies, roses, etc. you will love the effect that it gives off. Ideal to plant whether it is spring or summer, they are easy to look after and will give your garden a wonderful, fragrant smell that everyone loves. They are also available in different colors, making your garden a diverse field of colors that’s very attractive to the eye! Just make sure that you are aware of the best times to plant the seeds – as this can vary depending on the flowers you want to grow. This information can usually be found either on the front or the back of the seed packet.

  1. I love adding lights! As soon as I was able to, I replaced some very old strings of Christmas lights along a fence bordering the property with new, white, LED lights. We leave those on all year, as they help with visibility, and in the winter I add colourful Christmas lights, too. We also added solar lights made to be stuck into the ground along pathways to each side of a couple of gates leading into the yard. Again, for night time visibility purposes. While the reasons were practical, every time I look out the windows at night and see them, they make me smile! I look forward to adding more around the yard, as we continue to clean things up! 🙂
