It all started with a local purchase of Pea shoot Greens, as a snack. Dawned on me that its best and easy to grow your own, either in your own kitchen or backyard, all year round.

Here are easy steps to grow your own organic sprouts:

Purchase Organic Sprouts – I like GotSrouts company. Seeds always sprout. This time I got Wheat sprouts strictly for juicing and Pea shoots for snacking.

Drain the soaking water out and rinse all the water out

Sprinkle on top of 2 inches of organic dirt. Cover the dirt without overlapping

Pour seeds in, evenly. Fun part is to get your hands dirty 🙂

Water and put a heavy tray of dirt on top of wheat sprouts. They need pressure to germinate, keeps them moist. Treat them as they are underground.

  1. Awesome! Years ago, i used to sprout wheatgrass and juice it in a juicer.
Now I use (daily) Easy Sprout sprouters. They work by utilizing the natural heat convection that occurs while seeds sprout; this circulates the moisture in the container without requiring a motor. (Seeds emit a small amount of heat as they sprout.) I find them to be the best and easiest sprouting containers. These spouters are SO Easy that it is amazing. Now my favorite sprouts (that i put in soups) are buckwheat and fenugreek. 🙂
