This Plant Parent Is My Kind Of Guy

Hilton Carter has nearly 300 plants in his Baltimore apartment and studio. He calls them his “green friends,” adding, “I’m not the crazy plant person. Am I?” Video/Photo: Natalia V. Osipova/The Wall Street Journal

This is a new type of plant parenting that I absolutely love. This man is babying his plants the way I did when I was a child. So amazing and I bet he is getting all the Nature Benefits of being next to plants right in his own studio. Smart decision on his part to care for plants and at the same getting health benefits right back.

Have a very green, healthy, aerated and love filled day, my dear friends.

A garden is a grand teacher. It teaches patience and careful watchfulness; it teaches industry and thrift; above all it teaches entire trust.

  2. I can’t image having the time available to do all that he must do for his friends. He is dedicated, and good for him also since he obviously loves it. Now that we are settling in, I am slowly trying to add some green indoors too. An African violet was the first which I almost killed because I forgot we bought it! It’s still mad at me about that, months later, and won’t flower. I still have some poor spider transplants sitting in the plastic bag they were given to me in I don’t want to admit how many weeks ago. I really need to stop dithering about what pot to use since it will be inside my old wicker plant stand now that I fixed the loose bit from basket to legs. 😊

Good post. Maybe today will be the day the spiders get to spread over the wicker.
