🐶 Now Dexter is a happily found dog. He is a beautiful Australian Shepherd that wondered our neighborhood streets. No tags or name on his collar, sadly. 🐾
Our friends and neighbors found him wondering. They thought that our own Zoe was lost. Calling me to pick a “runaway” Zoe up, made me relieved it wasn’t her. She was snuggling near me, just like the rest of my pooches.
Running to get him, we asked our local vet, who was conveniently exercising in our neighborhood at the same time what we should do. The first thing was to post on local communities website for lost and found pets. If no one answers, we should take him to the local Veterinarian hospital to identify who the owner is by scanning his microchip, most likely embedded in the ear.
What is so funny is that the exercising Veterinarian asked if its a boy or girl, and we stood there stupified, can’t quite determine the gender of this dog. One of the friends said: “We really don’t know how to determine the gender. What do we really know”. We all laughed. Turns out its a boy.
Long story short, our dogs welcomed the lost pooch. We fed him, put him in a doggy fence and the owners came knocking that evening. The lady was watching her traveling daughter’s dog, that had no tags, no identity collar and obviously wasn’t oriented to the neighborhood. We made sure to mention that to her.
Neighbors were stating that the dog is lucky, he wasn’t eaten by local wild coyotes or alligators. I question the alligators, but what do I know? Just like unable to identify the gender of the dog, I didn’t know that the local alligator ate the strolling dog walker the day before, living scrawny dogs behind?!!!!!!!!!!! How do I even know that? Read the news about the alligator with found women’s hand in his mouth and barking dogs at the swamp. Oh, my goodness.
Friends, please make sure your pets are secured and have a visible name and phone number on their collar.
Have a happy Friday, great weekend, filled with loving kisses and tail wagging. 🐶🐾🐶

The glimpse of your surroundings suggests it is beautiful where you are.
Joggers or walkers?
Stray dogs …. tell me about it.

Definitely a good news story. Tags and microchips are essential these days. Shelters now spay/neuter/chip all adoptees, which is good.
Alligators return from the brink of extinction in the 60s is now confirmed and heading back to why they were exterminated in the first place. Always tricky to meet human and predator needs when living in close proximity.

If pharma companies hired dogs to be CEOs, Dexter would be the perfect fit with his silver and grey ‘executive hair’.
