A local restaurant where you can order a meal without guilt and regret.
Right here in Carrollwood, Florida, we are fortunate to have this amazing health-oriented restaurant. My daughter googled local healthy places to eat and found Evos right next door to us. http://evos.com/
I don’t mind my girl taking a carry out from this particular restaurant since they offer naturally raised beef, poultry, and wild salmon. The best part is that all their Chicken strips and French fries are Air baked, instead of deep-fried. Ordering meals in our own community without excess fat and calories gratifying….
For plant-based lifestyle enthusiasts, there are Veggie burger patties, wraps, and green salads. What more can you ask for? Perhaps, Fair Trade Organic Green Tea with Citrus and Gingko? Well, yes, they have this option, too 🙂
The Super friendly store owner, Anita, set down for the interview, taking time away from her busy schedule to answer some of my questions.
- What inspired you to become a restaurant owner?
My personal mission to eat healthily, give back to the community and feed likeminded customers prompted me to establish the Evos restaurant. Working in corporate America and being passionate about healthy meals, I was fortunate to encounter the Evos restaurant idea. I resonate with its mission and I would love to spread the healthy food message to our community.
- How long have you been in business at Carrollwood location?
We have been here 4 years In July.
- Who is your typical customer?
Clients that are mindful of meal consumption, aware of ingredients and educated in food choices.
4. What is your favorite meal at Evos?
Air baked chicken strips. I really crave them if I go a day without tasting them. (Mine had to be the air popped french fries :))
- What about your salads? What would you suggest?
Green Mesa Chicken Bowl is my favorite.
- What do you cook for yourself and your family at home?
We have Italian heritage and we prepare a lot of grass-fed meat tomato sauce, eggplant, and green broccoli rabe. In fact, when we travel, we pack all the proper ingredients in our luggage to cook together with our extended family.
- Do you grow Plants in your own house?
I grow herbs, particularly Rosemary. It’s fragrant and versatile in my cooking. Chicken rosemary is so delicious. I think chicken is my favorite meat 🙂
- How do you cater to Gluten Free, non-meat customers with particular food needs?
I personally explain particular menu options, proper food choices to them and offer a Nutritional Guide. It’s available here, in our location.
- What are your future plans for the restaurant?
Possibly open another location in Tampa Bay area. (That is great to hear, especially for me, as a mother.) We really need you everywhere, so we take our kids out guilt free.
- What are 3 tips for running a successful restaurant?
- Customer satisfaction
- Good products
- Be Passionate about the food and not about $$$
- What do you want your restaurant to be known for?
I would like it to be the staple of Tampa Bay community for healthy and heart-friendly food. Also, we just established our Facebook site for easier social access. Please visit https://www.facebook.com/evoscarrollwood/
Meeting Anita was a heartfelt experience. Knowing that we have a local health food oriented establishment to rely on, safely feed our families and never deny an outing experience for the kids makes my life easier. Our kids repeatedly hear denied requests for dining options, but no more. Leaving Evos felt like parting with an old trusted friend. The notion of being in good feeding hands sealed my future dining choices.
Until next time.

This sounds a fantastic find on your doorstep, and wonderful food.. I find there are many such restaurants now springing up for the demand of healthy alternatives in eating healthy food free from all the rubbish that is put into many readymade meals..
And that is half the reason I feel many digestive systems are not coping with all the chemicals elements added.
Wonderful share thank you Luda xx

So grateful for your comments, Sue. Always look forward reading what you have in store for me:) I tell ya, the gut is our second brain. I only now get to learn this info and wish someone would educate me earlier. Hopefully, the next generation will make smarter choices…

Yes and its crucial to have healthy gut bacteria.. Which is why I eat lots of greens, etc and Pepper too is on the list of a recent discovery.. From Google
” Potassium, another mineral in black pepper, helps improve your stomach’s ability to digest foods and promotes intestinal health. Because black pepper is a carminative, it discourages intestinal gas from forming, and as a bonus, the outer layer of the peppercorn aids in the break-down of fat cells. ”

Oh my, I had no idea…. thank you, Sue. From now on I will ask for Pepper on my salad (always omitted that step). Wow. How much do we need with each meal? Thank you for that phenomenal health tip

Yes, I started adding freshly ground black pepper and now have got the taste for it.. It can only help.. I saw a documentary on it and other super foods about two months ago.. And it showed how those who ate more black pepper did not have so many stomach related illnesses..

We need the majority of our American restaurants — particularly in the old South (including Texas!) — to mimick this concept! Way too many things inside mega corporate grocery stores and national chain restaurants do not closely scrutinize the nutritional combinations, ingredients, and packaging (endless plastic!) in selecting their products and produce to sell. Hence, why the USA is one of the unhealthiest nations in the world.

Way to go Anita and Evos! You guys are part of the solution! 😍 👍 And thank you Luda for this fabulous post! ❤

Wow, thank you, so much, PT. Really appreciate your support and the link. It’s just awful how we feed toxins to our own population. I walk into the store’s junk isles and all I am thinking … poison…poison… poison… so sad?! Very glad to have you as a like-minded thinker. Always look forward to your posts, as well 🙂

Not sure if my boys and daughter would ever change french fries to air baked ones! (honestly me too) 😃
Enjoy!
Wishing you all the best
